Pallet Calculator / Mixed orders
Mixed SKU Pallet Planner
Different cases. One whole-order plan.
Search for a complete arrangement across pallets, then inspect each pallet in 3D and share step-by-step build instructions.
Free account required. Plan on a desktop or laptop at least 1280 px wide.
- Bring your order. Enter cases, paste a spreadsheet, import a CSV or reuse saved shippers.
- Keep your constraints. Set pallet size, loaded height, weight and case-handling rules.
- Review and share. Inspect 3D build steps, save a plan, download a PDF and share a read-only link.
- Free
- 2 completed plans a week, watermarked PDF build plans and shared links.
- Pro and Team
- 5 completed plans a week per person, packing-list CSV and PDFs without a watermark. See plans
Plans arrange cases geometrically; they do not check box strength or transport stability. Planning one product per pallet? Use the Pallet Calculator.

The Mixed SKU Pallet Planner arranges a whole order of rectangular cases across pallets. It checks case placement, allowed orientation, geometric support, pallet footprint, loaded height and entered handling constraints. At the same pallet count, it also prefers plans without gaps inside the load or heavier cases on lighter ones. Its bounded search seeks a complete plan using fewer pallets; it does not guarantee a globally minimum pallet count or a successful plan for every order.
How it works
1. Enter the packed cases and quantities
Enter outside length, width and height for each closed, packed case. Add rows manually, paste from a spreadsheet, import a CSV or reuse saved shippers. Enter quantities as cases, or as product units with a full-pack size. Keep full and partial cases distinct.
2. Set the pallet and handling limits
Choose a standard or custom pallet, loaded height including the pallet, and an optional gross weight limit including pallet tare. Set permitted orientations and rules such as upright only, nothing on top or pallet floor only. Unknown case weights stay unknown; a gross weight cap needs the relevant weights. Without that cap, geometric planning can proceed while complete mass and center-of-gravity information may be unavailable.
3. Review the plan before a warehouse build
A complete result places every case exactly once. Inspect each pallet, case details and the 3D build sequence. Save the recorded plan, export a PDF build plan or share a read-only link. Pro and Team also include a packing-list CSV. Saved plans retain their recorded result; changing a source case does not automatically update them.
Geometric support is not a box-compression calculation, transport-stability assessment or shipping certification. Review compatibility, pallet construction, containment and your actual handling conditions separately.
Synthetic example: three products, 36 cases
One upright-only order contains 8 tea cases at 400 × 300 × 200 mm and 6 kg each, 12 coffee cases at 300 × 200 × 150 mm and 4 kg each, and 16 snack cases at 200 × 200 × 150 mm and 2 kg each. The pallet is 1200 × 1000 × 150 mm with 25 kg tare, a 1200 mm loaded-height limit and a 500 kg gross limit.
The locally generated example shown above places all 36 cases on one pallet, with a loaded height of 500 mm and gross mass of 153 kg including the pallet. These are results for this synthetic input, not a general capacity or savings claim. Review the actual case placement and handling conditions before a physical build.
Frequently asked questions
How is mixed-SKU planning different from a boxes-per-pallet calculator?
A single-SKU calculator compares arrangements of one case size. Mixed SKU planning takes an order of different cases and quantities and searches for a complete arrangement across multiple pallets. Mixed orientations of one case size are still single-SKU planning.
Does it guarantee the fewest possible pallets?
No. The planner uses a bounded search. A completed plan reports the fewest pallets found for that order within its search, not a proven global minimum. Some orders may finish without a complete plan.
Do I need every case weight?
Weights are optional when planning geometry without a gross weight cap. Unknown weights remain unknown, so a complete mass or center-of-gravity result may be unavailable. To enforce a gross weight limit, provide the required case weights and pallet tare.
Does a supported case mean the load is safe to ship?
No. Geometric contact does not establish case compression strength, pallet deck capacity or transport stability. The model does not assess stretch-wrap, dunnage, hazardous-goods segregation or temperature compatibility. Check the physical load and applicable handling requirements separately.
Is there a free plan, and can I use it on a phone?
A free account includes 2 completed plans a week, watermarked PDF build plans and read-only shared links. Pro and Team include 5 completed plans a week per person, packing-list CSV and PDFs without a watermark. The planning workspace is built for desktop and laptop screens at least 1280 px wide.
